What to Know About Attending Mass at SMM
• There is no obligation to attend Mass; Bishop Kemme continues to dispense all Catholics in the Diocese of Wichita from the Sunday obligation. Please do not put yourself in danger, especially if you are elderly or immunocompromised.
• Seating in the church will be limited to 100
• Mass will be streamed to the gym, which seats 125
• Once there are 225 people in attendance, all others will be asked to leave and come back at another time
• Masks are STRONGLY encouraged
• Ushers will seat you before mass and dismiss you at the conclusion of mass; please follow their instructions at all times
• You are STRONGLY encouraged to received communion in the hand
• Do NOT congregate inside the church building before or after mass
• A cleaning crew will sanitize the church between Masses, but this does not substitute for wearing a mask, washing hands, and not touching your face
Although public Masses will again take place, we are far from “normal.”
